Purpose and Reason:

Updated Section 1432.05, Purpose of Redetermination, to reflect redetermination of eligibility to occurs whenever a significant change is expected that may affect the family's eligibility and at least once every twelve (12) months vs. every six (six) months for families that are recipients of RI Works cash assistance but not of SNAP/Food Stamps. Added Section 1432.17, Interim reporting, which states that household composition and financial circumstances at the time of application will be the basis of the RIW benefit amount for the first half of the certification period unless the household reports a change during the certification period before the Interim Report period. The household composition and financial circumstances reported on the Interim Report will be the basis of the RIW benefit amount for the remainder of the certification period unless the household reports additional changes following the filing of the Interim Report.

Brief statement of Reason for Finding Imminent Peril:

Effective 10/1/09 all RIW hopuseholds are subject to Interim Reporting Requirements. In the fifth month of certification, households subject to Interim Reporting will receive an Interim Report form in the mail. Households must complete the form in its entirety and mail the form along with the required verifications back to the agency by the fifth day of the sixth month of certification.
